Black Crow celebrates the anniversary of "WakeUpDaytona!"
At the dawn of the new year in 2007, Black Crow Media and well known local business executive, Douglas Kosarek announced that they were coming together to create a dynamic new program for the WNDB morning show. The issues driven talk show "Wake Up Daytona!" would debut on January 8th from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. weekday mornings.

WakeUpDaytona! proved to be enormously popular...and continues to improve.

"I noticed that many local talk shows were real quick to point out problems, THAT is easy...anyone can complain. We wanted to do more than that. "Wake Up Daytona!" strives to dig deeper and seek potential solutions to those problems. No one person has all the answers but by bringing together the seemingly disparate voices of our listeners to collaboratively focus on solutions...we usually find results." Kosarek said. "I serve as a provocative moderator that presents all sides of the story so that we can begin to come together around the things that need to be solved to help the area be the best it can be...for ALL the residents."

Some of the topics of continuing interest on the show are:

· Consolidation of Services
Twenty years ago we voted on consolidating the 17 governments of Volusia County into one govenment entity. It failed 18,186 to 22,218. Have our circumstances changed?

·Autisim Awareness
One out of 116 children are being diagnosed on the autism spectrum. Is it vacinations? Is it cell phones and wireless internet? Is it an epidemic?

· Workforce Housing
Over half of our workforce cannot afford to live in over half the area homes.

· Community Visioning
If you don't know your destination, there's no path in the world that will get you there. The City of Daytona Beach is in the midst of a two year visioning process. Central Florida has recently completed the "How Shall We Grow?" process and has begun it's implementation.

· Tax Reform
Local, state, and national tax reforms. We dig into the Fair Tax, expanding the State Sales Tax, Elimination of State Sales Tax Exemptions, Property Tax Reform in ALL it's variations.

Stacey Knerler, the GM/Market Manager of Black Crow's Daytona broadcast properties is thrilled that Kosarek joined the station broadcast team.

"Doug has been on the inside of some of the most powerful companies in Volusia County...and throughout the State. He has formed great relationships by working closely with key people. He brings our listeners closer to all the movers and shakers in this community," Knerler said. "This show is definitely not scripted. We watch it unfold every day, just like you do...and it brings the community closer together."

"Wake Up Daytona!" focuses on issues that impact the YOU, even if you don't recognize it yet...politics, jobs, taxes, business issues, elections, meetings, fund raisers, special events and fun things to do around town. We show you ways YOU can plug in and "Make it a GREAT day!"...making a difference by being informed and involved in YOUR community. The "Wake Up Daytona!" team is a very talented cast that helps bring a unique and fresh perspective on the news of the day.

Dave Laing has been on the air in the Daytona Beach area on WNDB for over 25 years and is one of the most trusted voices in the community. He is the WNDB Program Director. As a long term resident he serves the role on the show of the voice of the everyday citizen who wants to better understand what is going on in the community...without the accronyms!

Mark "Mr. News" Williams is a veteran journalist and on air personality with experience in both radio and television news broadcasting. He is the Black Crow Media Corporate News Director. "Mr. News" tells it like it is and pulls no punches. Both he and Dave Laing were recognized for their tireless stint behind the microphone in the wake of the series of Hurricanes that swept through the area in 2004. Mark has a passion for the news business and takes great pride in being first and accurate.

Rozzie Franco is the WNDB News Field Journalist and brings an "on the spot" view of news and events that are happening in the area...many times as they are happening. She delivers real energy and provides our listeners with different perspective...by being there.

"Wake Up Daytona!" can be heard Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. on top rated NewsTalk 1150 AM, WNDB or on www.wndb.am (Streaming audio.)
